Russia eyeing financial projects with APEC countries
Ambassador at large and senior APEC official Marat Berdyev also drew attention to preparations for Peru’s presidency which will start in December
MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Russia is considering projects in the financial sphere, including through the Bank of Russia, with Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) partners, Ambassador at large and senior APEC official Marat Berdyev said at a briefing.
"The Russian Federation is reviewing a number of projects, including down the line of the Central Bank, with APEC partners, which can contribute to moving in the proper direction in this sphere," the official said.
Berdyev drew attention to preparations for Peru’s presidency in the APEC, which will start in December. "Peru will start actively promoting its agenda as early as from December; the first series of events took place. Naturally, we are preparing to go," the diplomat noted.
Two key components are in the field of Peru’s vision in the APEC at present, Berdyev said. "Digital transformation, which is running through our activities in all the sectors, and the energy transition. The topic is very high in the agenda now, there is no single formula in this regard, and the states offer different views in respect of development of this sector," he stressed. The presidency will also put forward tasks of economic growth acceleration, make the focus on the food security topic, and "the whole package of issues will be raised, related to the position of women in the economy, small and medium businesses," the official added.
"We have what to say in all these areas and we are already closely communicating with Peru in order to determine potential joint projects that could be implemented," the diplomat said.
