The fact that the Delphic Games will be organized in the Arctic points to the importance of the region's humanitarian space that preserves the national northern colors, traditions and specific features, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador-At-Large and Chair of the Arctic Council's Senior Arctic Officials Nikolay Korchunov told TASS.
"The very fact of the Delphic Games' organization demonstrates, proves the importance of the Arctic region's humanitarian space that for many years has been preserving successfully the national northern colors, traditions and specific features," he said. "The Delphic Games have proven to be a most demanded international platform to favor the identification of young talents, to favor the development of creative economy and tourism."
The Russian North has always been "rich in talented people," and it is known for the input in the Russian and international arts and sciences, he continued. "We are happy that this year the second Games will take place in Komi, in its capital, like the first Games did. Realistically, Syktyvkar for a few days will become the Arctic's musical capital. The Games will run from the 20th to the 24th, and on November the 25th already Murmansk will take over that symbolic torch," he concluded.
