Rusagro Group expects to start pork supplies to China in 2024 – company

MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. The Rusagro Group, one of the leading Russian agricultural holdings, expects to begin supplying pork to China in 2024, Alexander Tarasov, FEO of Rusagro Group of Companies LLC, said on Monday.
"As for opening exports to China, I mean specific data, a decision has been made, but there is uncertainty regarding specific dates, and we are interacting with government agencies on this topic. I won’t give you a specific date. We very much hope that first deliveries will start next year," Tarasov said.
In September, the Russian agricultural watchdog reported that the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China allowed the supply of pork from Russia. The decision was made based on the results of a risk assessment and analysis of the state control system for African swine fever in Russia.
In late September, the press service of the Economic Development Ministry reported that Russian pork exports to China will start in the second or third quarter of 2024. To begin supplies, the Russian side needs to take actions that will take from three months to one year.
