Uranium reserves at promising Elkon field to suffice for 100 years

The development of the uranium project in the Elkon zone is expected in 2035
MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. Uranium reserves of the Elkon uranium ore district (the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) will suffice for 100 years, First Deputy Director General of Atomredmetzoloto (ARMZ, Mining Division of Rosatom), Executive Director of ARMZ Viktor Svyatetsky told TASS.
"Uranium reserves of the Elkon field have been explored and put onto national register. With a capacity of 2,000 tons per year, those reserves will suffice for more than 100 years," he said.
Uranium is not produced at this field now. Elkon MMP, an enterprise of Rosatom’s Mining Division, is involved in developing a gold ore project there so far. The development of the uranium project in the Elkon zone is expected in 2035.
