Freight turnover of Russian seaports up 7.8% YOY in 10M 2023 — regulator

Dry cargo throughput totaled 382 mln metric tons, while bulk goods throughput stood at 367.3 mln metric tons

MOSCOW, July 10. /TASS/. The freight turnover of Russian seaports rose 7.8% year on year to 749.3 mln metric tons in January - October 2023, the press service of the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport said.

"The freight turnover of Russian seaports moved up by 7.8% year on year over January - October 2023 against the like period of the last year and totaled 749.3 mln metric tons," the Agency said.

Dry cargo throughput totaled 382 mln metric tons (+14.7% annually). Bulk goods throughput totaled 367.3 mln metric tons, up 1.5%.

Freight turnover lost 0.2% year on year to 81.8 mln metric tons in ports of the Arctic Basin, including 26.2 mln metric tons of dry cargo (+7.7% annually) and 55.6 mln metric tons of bulk liquid cargo (down 3.5%).

Seaports of the Baltic Basin had the 2.5% increase in the freight turnover to 208.8 mln metric tons. Dry cargo throughput stood at 94.8 mln metric tons (plus 19.9%). Bulk cargo throughput edged down by 8% to 114 mln metric tons.

Freight turnover gained 17.2% year on year to 251.3 mln metric tons in ports of the Azov-Black Sea Basin, with transshipment of dry cargo adding 26.2% annually to 122.9 mln metric tons and bulk goods - up 9.8% to 128.4 mln metric tons.

Seaports of the Far Eastern Basin were reported to have throughput of 200.9 mln metric tons, up 5.7% year to date (up 3.9% annually to 134.1 mln metric tons for dry goods and up 9.6% to 66.8 mln metric tons for bulk cargo).

Freight turnover added 36.1% year-on-year to 6.5 mln metric tons in seaports of the Caspian Basin in the reporting period.
