Putin satisfied with current level of trade between Russia, Kazakhstan
The use of national currencies has expanded significantly in countertrade - 75% of mutual payments are already made in rubles and tenge, the Russian leader noted
ASTANA, November 9. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin is pleased with the metrics of economic cooperation with Kazakhstan, specifically trade turnover and investment.
"It was noted during talks that bilateral trade turnover gained over 10% last year. This is a good indicator," Putin said after negotiations with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The use of national currencies has expanded significantly in countertrade - 75% of mutual payments are already made in rubles and tenge, the Russian leader noted.
"I would like to stress that Russia is a major investor in the Kazakh economy. Accumulated Russian investments in Kazakhstan stand at - our statistics differ a little here - about $17 bln according to our data, $20 bln by Kazakh statistics. But I agree with the President of Kazakhstan that the number is somewhere in this range and this is a good figure," Putin said.
