Unique yellow diamond to be put up for auction — Alrosa
According to the Russian diamond miner, the starting price of the gem is $3.125 mln
MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. More than forty rare colored and colorless diamonds, including a "royal" yellow gem weighing over 31 carats and valued at a price of $3.125 mln are going to auction, Russian diamond miner Alrosa said.
A pre-auction showing of the diamonds will take place in Moscow on November 14 and 15. The actual auction will be held from November 14 to 16. "The main lot is expected to be the yellow diamond weighing over 30 carats," the company said. The starting price of the gem is $3.125 mln.
The raw diamond was unearthed in Yakutia in 2021 and specialists estimated its age at 360 mln years. The 31.25-carat diamond was cut into a special form by experts in the Russian region of Smolensk.
In total, thirty-two colored and ten particularly large colorless diamonds with exceptionally rare characteristics will be auctioned off.
