MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. First foreign bank connected to the Sber QR code payment platform, CEO Herman Gref told reporters on Wednesday.
"First foreign bank has recently connected to Sber's QR code payment platform. Currently, eight Russian banks are connected to our platform, and we expect to add another three - four before the end of the year. By increasing the number of partners, including those from other countries, we will be able to boost the audience and turnover for this payment option," he said.
According to Sber, about 40 mln transactions are now made per month using the bank's QR, and nearly 10 mln people use the service monthly.
Sber also plans to develop its own cross-bank bioacquiring platform that other banks will be able to join. "Our bioacquiring platform is currently a ready-made universal solution for millions of clients, and we plan to create a cross-banking platform based on it so that other banks can also use our solution," he added.
Gref also noted that Sberbank intends to migrate all customer cards to its own processing system by the end of 2024. Currently, 70 mln credit cards are serviced in this manner. Gref highlighted that the switch to the bank’s own card processing allows to totally withdraw from foreign software.
