NANCHANG /China/, November 8. /TASS/. Russia’s Volga Federal District sees a favorable trend in Chinese investment in the region, with the total amount exceeding $500 mln since the beginning of the year, according to Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov.
"The dynamics are clearly favorable. In terms of investments, our Chinese partners provided a figure today. More than $500 mln was invested in less than a year - these are Chinese investments in Volga Federal District regions in high-tech companies related to mechanical engineering, automotive industry, and other areas," he said.
Positive trends were also reported in trade turnover, according to Komarov. "The trade turnover of the Volga Federal District regions this year has grown by 58%, and the structure of the regions’ external trade turnover has changed very significantly," he said, adding that China's share of the regions’ total foreign trade turnover has nearly doubled since the beginning of the year - from 12% to 22%. This figure reached 30% to 40% in some areas.
