Bank of Russia assesses risks of sanctions against Moscow Exchange, knows how to act
Elvira Nabiullina pointed out that the Moscow Exchange has different types of trading, not only in foreign instruments
MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. The Bank of Russia assesses the risks of sanctions against the Moscow Exchange, Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina told reporters, adding that the regulator knows how to act.
"We constantly assess risks of financial infrastructure, various types of sanctions, simulate situations to reduce such risks proactively. The Moscow Exchange has different types of trading, not only in foreign instruments, though we assess those risks, know what should be done in this or that case," she said.
The US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) blacklisted Russia’s Saint Petersburg (SBP) Exchange on November 2, after which it suspended trading in foreign securities for compliance procedures for at least seven working days.
