China authorizes wild-caught seafood imports from Russia
Beijing included the category of "Wildlife aquatic products" on the list of bioresources eligible to be exported from Russia to China
MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. Chinese authorities have authorized the import of wild-caught aquatic products from Russia, the Main Customs Administration of China said.
The decision came into force on November 6. The list of products will include bioresources in wildlife conditions - fish, invertebrates, mammals, and algae, except species included in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna (CITES) dated March 3, 1973, and the list of animals protected in China.
China included the category of "Wildlife aquatic products" on the list of bioresources eligible to be exported from Russia to China. This means lifting restrictions for the import of any goods legally allowed in China. Companies that comply with health regulations in the two countries can deal with such supplies. Russian exporters must be registered with and recommended by the national veterinary and phytosanitary regulator.
