Sber suffers most powerful DDoS attack about two weeks ago — CEO
Herman Gref added that the bank is regularly subjected to about ten attacks a month, but hackers have never been able to breach even the first of the bank's three security loops
MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. Sber is regularly exposed to unsuccessful hacker attacks - only two weeks ago it withstood the most powerful DDoS attack in the bank's history, CEO Herman Gref said.
"The most recent DDoS attack was probably two weeks ago. It was the most devastating attack in our history. It was three to four times more powerful than the previous one," he explained.
Gref added that the bank is regularly subjected to about ten attacks a month, but hackers have never been able to breach even the first of the bank's three security loops.
"However, we have noticed that these are new hackers, their methods are unfamiliar to us. That is, some new, highly skilled criminals have appeared on the market and have begun to methodically attack Russia's largest resources," the bank's CEO noted.
Earlier, Sber revealed that the bank has been subject to continuous cyberattacks since the end of February 2022, with the last most intense cyberattack on the organization's systems occurring on May 6, 2022.
