Sber expects record high profits in 2023 — CEO
The next year can also be a successful one for Russian banks in absence of shocks, Herman Gref noted
MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. Sber expects record-high profits for itself and for the entire Russian banking sector, CEO Herman Gref told reporters.
"The year will most probably indeed become the most successful all over the period, and we expect record-breaking profits for ourselves and for the banking sector also," the chief executive said.
The next year can also be a successful one for Russian banks in absence of shocks, Gref noted. "It is difficult to say so far what will be in the next year; I mean the banking sector. We are looking positively at development of our business. We hope also to have very good indicators, record high indicators next year," he added.
According to IFRS reporting statements, net profits of Sber climbed to record-breaking 1.149 trillion rubles ($12.4 bln) over nine months of 2023.
