Investing in foreign securities risky — Russian Deputy Finance Minister
On November 2, the US authorities included the SPB Exchange in the sanctions list
MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. The sanctions introduced by the United States against the SPB Exchange show the danger associated with Russians investing in foreign securities, Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Moiseev said at a plenary session in the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament.
"The latest unlawful decision to introduce sanctions made on Thursday, on sanctions against the SPB Exchange, showed all the risks associated with buying securities overseas, about which we and the Central Bank warned citizens many times," Moiseev said.
On November 2, the US authorities included the SPB Exchange in the sanctions list. The exchange is the leading organizer of trading in international corporate securities on the Russian financial market.
