Russia to produce around 30 mln tons of LNG this year — Novak
According to Deputy Prime Minister, today Russia’s share in LNG production in the world is approximately 8%
MOSCOW, November 4. /TASS/. Russia aims to take a 20% share in global liquefied natural gas production and will produce approximately 30 mln tons of LNG this year, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said.
"We plan to reach a level of LNG production of about 100 mln tons by 2030, and this year, for comparison, it is 30 mln tons," he said.
According to him, today Russia’s share in LNG production in the world is approximately 8%. "We have set a goal to reach a level of approximately 20% of the total production and consumption of LNG in the world," he said.
According to the Russian State Statistics Service, LNG production in January - September 2023 amounted to 23.6 mln tons, which is 4.4% less than for the same period in 2022. In September, LNG production amounted to 2.7 mln tons, which is 3.2% more than in September 2022 and 24% higher than in August 2023.
