Russia’s exports of agricultural products to increase by 10% in 2023

MOSCOW, November 4. /TASS/. Exports of agricultural products from Russia will grow by 10% in 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko told reporters.

"We maintain the forecast of 10% growth in exports of agricultural products this year, and for grains - even slightly higher than the forecast, up to 60 mln tons," she said.

Earlier, Abramchenko reported that exports of Russian agricultural products in 2022 increased by 12% compared to a year earlier to more than $41.5 bln, exports to friendly countries increased by a quarter to $34 bln. According to forecasts of the Ministry of Agriculture, exports of agricultural products from Russia at the end of 2023 will amount to more than $45 bln.

She noted that the direct damage to Russian farmers from the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was estimated to be around 150 mln rubles ($1.62 mln) in the current agricultural year. "Farmers in the affected region provided information that direct damage for this agricultural year amounts to about 150 mln rubles," she said. At the same time, she added that complete damage assessments could take up to 1.5 years.
