Russian fisheries agency notes positive export dynamics

SAMARKAND, November 3. /TASS/. The Russian Federal Agency for Fisheries notes positive dynamics of fish exports in January-September 2023 against the like period of the last year, head of the agency Ilya Shestakov told reporters on the sidelines of the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum.
"Dynamics is positive," the official said. Fish exports are expected to be at the level of prior years as of 2023 year-end, about 1.8-2 mln metric tons, Shestakov noted.
Fish export to China is recovering now, the agency head said. "We have already returned to pre-COVID volumes. We supplied even greater volume to China in this year," he noted, adding that fish supplies to China are expected to be 1.2-1.3 mln metric tons as of 2023 year-end.
New fish export destinations appear, Shestakov said. "We are proactively working with the Middle East. Furthermore, new countries in part are added with the African continent. Nigeria is the main consuming country there," he added.
