Gazprom notes significant gas consumption growth in Russia — Deputy CEO

ST. PETERSBURG, October 31. /TASS/. Gazprom takes note of material growth of natural gas consumption in Russia owing to the gas infrastructure development program, Deputy CEO Vitaly Markelov told reporters on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
"Domestic consumption is growing owing to the gas infrastructure development, connection of new users, and so on, and we see it. Our consumption growth is significant as regards the temperature level," Markelov said.
The situation on the Russian gas market in the first half of 2023 "was characterized by slightly milder temperature conditions in winter and in spring and summer time, as compared to the like period of 2022," Gazprom said in its report earlier.
The company supplied 243 bln cubic meters of gas to Russian consumers from the gas transport system as of the end of 2022.
