Engine production at Haval plant in Russia to start in early 2024 — Haval Motor Rus
According to executive director of Haval Motor Rus Andrey Akifyev, the construction of a plant is almost complete
MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. Engine production at the plant of the Chinese company Haval (part of the Great Wall Motor company) in Russia can start at the beginning of 2024, executive director of Haval Motor Rus, Andrey Akifyev told reporters.
"[The start of engine production at the plant] is early next year," he said.
Earlier today, at a press conference at Great Wall Motor, Akifyev noted that construction of this plant, which began in 2021 in the Uzlovaya industrial park in the Tula region, is almost complete.
In September 2020, the Industry and Trade Ministry concluded a special investment contract with the Russian subsidiary of the Chinese automaker Great Wall - Haval Motor Manufacturing Rus. The company's investment in local production in Russia will amount to 42.4 billion rubles ($454 mln). It implies local production of key automotive components - the engine, gearbox, electronic components and vehicle control systems.
