Russia can approve KPIs to control marked goods in 2023 — official
"We eventually hope the balance between the government and the business will be achieved," Vladislav Zaslavsky said
MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. Russian authorities intend to approve key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess control over marking of goods for all sixteen commodity groups, department director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vladislav Zaslavsky said.
"The government has already approved to date performance indicators of control and oversight bodies for thirteen commodity groups," the department director said. "We intend to complete this effort as early as in the present year and fully cover all the marked commodity groups with such performance indicators. We expect the risk management system will be implemented as early as in 2024," Zaslavsky noted.
"We eventually hope the balance between the government and the business will be achieved," he added.
The marking system was introduced in Russia in 2019 to counter the illegal turnover of goods. It currently covers dairy produce, bottled water, pharmaceuticals, tobacco, beer, footwear, light industry goods, fur coats, tires, perfumes, still cameras, sweetened beverages, medical products, biological active additives, antiseptics, and wheelchairs.
