The city's law enforcement agencies have stepped up security at key tourist sites to prevent cases of fraud, unfair competition and violations of the law
HAIKOU /China/, October 6. /TASS/. The resort city of Sanya on the southern coast of Hainan Island has welcomed tourists from all over China during the Golden Week, week-long national holiday on the occasion of the Zhong Qiu Jie Festival (Mid-Autumn Festival), which fell on September 29 this year, and China's National Day on October 1, the Sanya Daily newspaper reported.
According to the paper, local travel companies have prepared a varied program of seaside recreation for Sanya guests during the current holiday season, which stretches from September 29 to October 6. In addition to traditional activities such as swimming and scooter riding, small sailing boats are particularly popular among visitors.
As a result of the authorities' efforts to improve local infrastructure, Sanya is noted to have boosted its beach services over the past year. The city has taken care to expand the list of services available to tourists, as well as to protect Hainan visitors from the actions of some market players who use intrusive or coercive methods to sell their products.
The city's law enforcement agencies have also stepped up security at key tourist sites to prevent cases of fraud, unfair competition and violations of the law.
According to the newspaper, a large influx of tourists has also been seen at a diving center on Wuzhizhou Island, located in the South China Sea near Sanya's beaches. According to a representative of the local recreation center, tourists are offered a program of more than 10 items, which includes both scuba diving and exciting overwater activities.
Sanya is China's leading resort, home to more than 1 million people. In 2022, its gross product was 84.71 billion yuan (approximately $12.2 billion). The average annual temperature in this city reaches 25.4 degrees Celsius, and the coastline is over 200 kilometers long. There are 19 bays and about 40 islands suitable for tourism in the adjacent water area. All this allows the local administration to develop yachting and beach recreation.
