The source believes that it is connected with the situation around the conflict in Ukraine and the search for alternative routes of grain supplies

ANKARA, September 25. /TASS/. The current global environment has virtually brought the issue of revival of the grain deal in its initial form to deadlock, a source in Ankara’s political circles told TASS.

"We see no clear prospects for revival of agreements. This is due to the present international environment. It appears that the deal is deadlocked as its direct participants and interested parties in the West view the grain issue more as levers of influence rather than a purely humanitarian aspect," he said, adding that "even the UN’s management openly states the lack of optimism on the issue now."

The source believes that it is connected with the situation around the conflict in Ukraine and the search for alternative routes of grain supplies. Turkey "will continue searching for options of efficient mediation, including on peaceful negotiations, and it will not abandon those efforts, though this is very difficult work," he noted. Alternative routes "are far from the Black Sea Initiative in terms of efficiency so far as they are either riskier, more expensive or fail to ensure necessary volumes," the source added.
