Sanya holds forum on capitalizing Hainan's sustainable development projects

The Sanya Economic Research Institute in South China's Hainan Province, together with the city's Central Business District Office, has organized a forum dedicated to capitalizing and investing in sustainable development projects of the regional free trade port. This was reported by the Sanya Daily newspaper.
According to the newspaper, the event was led by the Sanya administration as well as the Hainan Development and Reform Commission. The conference participants paid key attention to the ESG concept, which aims to manage risks related to environmental, social and governance criteria, it noted.
Two reports were released during the forum with information on advanced companies present in the Chinese market, as well as outstanding entrepreneurs who contribute to the realization of the most effective projects in the PRC, taking into account the specified value system aimed at ensuring sustainable development. The announced list of 100 business organizations included high-tech enterprises and financial institutions.
Participants also launched an initiative to ensure sustainable development of the tourism industry. The Sanya Economic Research Institute also distributed a guide on the implementation of ESG standards in livestock farms and a statistical compendium on the sustainable environmental development of companies in China.
This conference is expected to strengthen Hainan's investment potential, stimulating the formation of new high-performance development models in enterprises in the province, as well as in other regions of the PRC.
