Absolut vodka coming back to Russian market — newspaper

STOCKHOLM, April 11. /TASS/. Swedish vodka producer Absolut and its French-based owner Pernod Ricard have resumed supplies to Russia, Kristianstadsbladet newspaper said on Tuesday, citing Absolut spokeswoman Paula Eriksson.
"Pernod Ricard acted with the interests of its employees in Ukraine and Russia in mind" after the start of the Russian special military operation, the spokeswoman said. "Under the sanctions that are currently in place, the holding is supplying products in an amount that can support local employees and provide economic sustainability to local entities," Eriksson noted.
Some global alcoholic beverage producers, including Pernod Ricard, Diageo and Bacardi, suspended sales in Russia or announced their exit from the country after the start of the operation. Absolut was in stock after the suspension of sales but shelves are empty now, the newspaper noted.
