Macron proposes to formulate new EU economic doctrine to guarantee its independence
According to the French President, such doctrine is "critically important for preservation of the European model and values"
THE HAGUE, April 11. /TASS/. French President Emmanuel Macron proposed to formulate a new EU economic doctrine, which, in his opinion, would guarantee the EU’s independence and preservation of its values, speaking at the Nexus Institute in the Hague Tuesday.
"Five pillars - competitiveness and single market, industry, protection [of information], reciprocity and cooperation - will make it possible to create a new [EU] economic doctrine, which will allow us to review issues of creating jobs, funding our social model, to work on solving the climate change problem, to be more independent, and to make our own decisions," the French leader noted.
According to Macron, such doctrine is "critically important for preservation of the European model and values."
On Tuesday, Macron arrive in the Netherlands with a state visit, which will include a reception by King Willem-Alexander and a meeting with Prime Minister Mark Rutte. In particular, the two states plan to sign a document on cooperation in innovations.
