Russian agricultural exports to Brazil on the rise in 2022 — statistics
The country also imported 1,700 metric tons of yeast amounting to $4.5 mln in 2022 (up 17% year on year)
MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. Russian agricultural supplies to Brazil soared 2.5-fold in 2022, the Agroexport federal center reports on Monday.
"In 2022, Russia supplied agro-industrial sector products to Brazil totaling $128 mln, which is 2.5 times above the 2021 figure. The Latin American nation joined ranks of the top fifty buyers of Russian food owing to such dynamics," the center said.
The increase is predominantly attributed to more active wheat supplies. Shipments of this crop totaled 362,000 metric tons worth $112 mln, while just 28,000 metric tons were delivered a year earlier. Furthermore, Russia is exporting malt to Brazil. In 2022, Brazil’s malt imports from Russia amounted to 20,000 metric tons worth $8.8 mln.
The country also imported 1,700 metric tons of yeast amounting to $4.5 mln in 2022 (up 17% year on year). Russia is also delivering wheat gluten, potato flakes, fish, confectionery, and certain other goods.
