It is noted that nuclear power could play an important role in ensuring Vietnam’s energy sovereignty
HANOI, April 7. /TASS/. Russia is ready to take part in the construction of nuclear power plants in Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said in Hanoi on Friday.
"Russia is ready to participate and assist Vietnam if a decision is made to build nuclear power plants of high or low power," he pointed out.
According to Chernyshenko, nuclear power could play an important role in ensuring Vietnam’s energy sovereignty.
"Such a decision will allow Vietnam to come close to achieving the goal of climate neutrality," he noted.
The Russian deputy prime minister, who is currently on a working visit to Vietnam, met with the leaders of the country’s nuclear energy sector at the Atomic Energy Institute of Vietnam on the sidelines of the Russian-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission’s meeting.
