Belarus and Russia implement investment projects worth over $18.5 mln

MOSCOW, 6 April. /TASS/. Belarus and Russia are implementing investment projects worth more than 1.5 bln rubles ($18.5 mln), President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State on Thursday.

"We are implementing a number of large investment projects for more than 1.5 billion, which we really need, both Russia and Belarus," he said.

Lukashenko emphasized that the governments of both countries have been virtually operating in the anti-crisis mode since last year. "I must say, we have achieved noticeable results in adapting the economy, in building new logistics routes," he said, adding that the major issues outlined by Moscow and Minsk have been generally resolved.

He noted that Russia and Belarus have implemented 60 scientific and technical programs that will help in import substitution in various industries. "During the years of building the Union State, more than 60 joint scientific and technical programs have been implemented <...> in various fields: space exploration, information technology, agriculture, production of materials and devices. Many developments are being introduced into production, thanks to which import substitution programs are being implemented," he said.
