Rise in Russian energy resource prices leading to ruble strengthening — Finance Minister

"I would like to reiterate that our rate follows market principles. Accordingly, it is floating in conditions of changes of the foreign economic situation," Anton Siluanov stressed

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. The ruble will become stronger amid the rise in prices of Russian energy resources, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said in an interview with the Shot Telegram channel.

"The ruble price depends on the trade balance. We see now that prices of Russian energy resources are growing, and therefore, the currency inflow will be greater. This will influence ruble strengthening," the Minister said.

"I would like to reiterate that our rate follows market principles. Accordingly, it is floating in conditions of changes of the foreign economic situation," Siluanov stressed.
