ULAN-UDE, March 14. /TASS/. The challenges that Russia faced in 2022 have only proven to be a benefit for the domestic economy, President Vladimir Putin said during a visit to the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant on Tuesday.

"Certain costs notwithstanding, I believe that last year turned out to be only for the good, given that we have become much more sovereign and independent in the area of economics and finance," the head of state said.

Putin concurred with the view that German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche’s maxim - "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger" - was particularly apropos in this case. "Well, something like that," the president responded with a laugh.
