Freight turnover of Russian seaports up 2.6% in 2M 2023

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. The freight turnover of Russian seaports gained 2.6% year-on-year and totaled 140.3 mln metric tons in January-February 2023, the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport said on Friday on its Telegram channel.

"The freight turnover of Russian seaports moved up by 2.6% year-on-year in January - February 2023 and totaled 140.3 mln metric tons. In particular, dry cargo throughput had an uptick by 4.9% to 65.4 mln metric tons ; bulk goods throughput edged up by 7% to 74.9 mln metric tons," the Agency said.

Freight turnover declined by 3% year-on-year to 15.9 mln metric tons in ports of the Arctic Basin, including 4.5 mln metric tons of dry cargo (+7.1% annually) and 11.4 mln metric tons of bulk cargo (down 6.5%).

Seaports of the Baltic Basin had the 3.8% increase in the freight turnover to 43.5 mln metric tons. Dry cargo throughput stood at 16.7 mln metric tons (down 4%). Bulk cargo throughput gained 9.2% to 26.8 mln metric tons.

Freight turnover gained 3.5% to 43.8 mln metric tons in ports of the Azov-Black Sea Basin, with transshipment of dry cargo adding 17.3% annually to 20.7 mln metric tons and bulk goods - up 6.3% to 23.1 mln metric tons.

Seaports of the Far Eastern Basin were reported to have throughput of 36.2 mln metric tons, up 2.7% (up 1.5% annually to 23 mln metric tons for dry goods and plus 4.9% to 13.2 mln metric tons for bulk cargo.
