Russian Cabinet to discuss tobacco regulation, LNG exports

Suggested measures are aimed at reducing volumes of illegal production and turnover of tobacco and nicotine-containing products, the Government said

MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. The Russian Government will discuss a draft law on tobacco regulation and a package of relevant amendments, including criminal liability for unlicensed production and sale of tobacco products, at the meeting on Thursday, the Cabinet’s press service said.

Suggested measures are aimed at reducing volumes of illegal production and turnover of tobacco and nicotine-containing products, the Government said.

The Cabinet will also discuss draft amendments to the gas export law. "It is stipulated to confer an exclusive right to liquefied natural gas (LNG) export to users of onshore subsurface areas located in full or in part to the north from the 67th degree of the north latitude," the Cabinet informed.

Eight companies have the right to export LNG from Russia at present, including Gazprom, Rosneft, Yamal LNG, Arctic LNG 1, Arctic LNG 2, and Arctic LNG 3.
