MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Tehran expects the Russian and Iranian national payment systems Mir and Shetab to be integrated in 2023, Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said in a video interview with the Parlamentskaya Gazeta on Wednesday.

"Of course, it is necessary to remove the obstacles in our money and financial affairs. In the area of banking cooperation, we have connected our domestic financial messaging systems. God willing, the payment system Mir and Shetab will also be launched in 2023," he said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on August 31, 2022, that Russia’s Mir payment system would be integrated with Iran’s Shetab fairly soon.
