Sanctions against Russia leading to rise in prices for oil buyers — Gazprom Neft
"Accordingly, oil and oil products supplied to markets earlier are now going to other markets. This definitely results in escalation of shipping costs and influences the price for buyers of oil and oil products," Alexander Dyukov said
MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. Sanctions of Western nations against the Russian fuel and energy sector eventually resulted in a change of the market structure and a change in logistical chains, leading to higher prices for buyers of oil and petroleum products, Gazprom Neft CEO Alexander Dyukov told reporters on Tuesday.
"On the one side, we see a surplus on the oil market and this definitely affects the price. On the other part, the change in the oil and petroleum products market structure is underway; flows of Russian oil and petroleum products are being refocused to new markets," Dyukov said.
"Accordingly, oil and oil products supplied to markets earlier are now going to other markets. This definitely results in escalation of shipping costs and influences the price for buyers of oil and oil products. In particular, this is the consequence of the sanction pressure applied to Russia in particular," the top manager added.
