MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Russian lender Uralsib, which has been blacklisted by the US, has temporarily suspended the transfer of currency for individuals and legal entities, a bank representative told TASS.

"Starting February 27, the bank is suspending outgoing payments for individuals and legal entities on the following currencies: US dollar, pound sterling, Danish krone, Japanese yen, Swedish krona, Canadian dollar, Norwegian krone, Australian dollar, and Swiss franc. We also ask not to make remittances to the bank in the mentioned currencies," Uralsib said.

Moreover, the bank is also temporarily suspending conversion in the aforementioned currencies for legal entities.

"We are working on mitigating the consequences of the sanctions imposed for our clients. Information about all changes will be provided swiftly on the bank’s official resources," the bank noted.

Uralsib also reported that Union Pay cards of clients staying in other countries have been suspended by the payment system. "We recommend updating the bank’s mobile application to the latest version and not deleting it from mobile devices. We also note that it is possible to manage finances without using the application, through the online bank. iOS users are recommended to switch off the auto update option on mobile devices," the bank said.

Meanwhile, all of Uralsib’s services will be available to clients staying on Russia’s territory without any restrictions, excluding transactions on certain foreign currencies. "All online services, offices and ATMs are operating as usual. The bank’s cards work as previously - cash withdrawal and payments in stores and online on Russia’s territory are available without any limitations," the bank noted.

On February 24, the US Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions on Russia’s Primorye, Saint-Petersburg, Uralsib, Zenit, and Levoberezhny banks, as well as Lanta Bank, Metallinvestbank, Credit Bank of Moscow, MTS Bank, SDM-Bank, and the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
