UK bans exports to Russia of goods that can be used in Ukrainian conflict
According to the Foreign Office, sanctions have resulted in a shortage of components in Russia, which is already affecting its ability to "produce equipment for export, such as armoured vehicles, attack helicopters and air defence systems"
LONDON, February 24. /TASS/. The United Kingdom has imposed a ban on exports to Russia of all goods that could be used by the Russian side in the conflict in Ukraine, according to a statement issued on Friday by the UK Foreign Office.
"Included in the hundreds of goods are aircraft parts, radio equipment, and electronic components that can be used by the Russian military industrial complex, including in the production of UAVs," the document said.
According to the Foreign Office, sanctions have resulted in a shortage of components in Russia, which is already affecting its ability to "produce equipment for export, such as armoured vehicles, attack helicopters and air defence systems." London hopes that thanks to new restrictions, "Russia’s role as a reliable arms exporter and their military-industrial complex are being undermined by international sanctions".
