Gazprom’s reserves 'astronomical,' leave other countries in the dust, says Putin
The Russian leader cited the liquefied natural gas production, storage and shipment plant on the coast of the Gulf of Finland as yet another example of the company's capabilities
NOVO-OGAREVO, February 17. /TASS/. Natural gas reserves in Gazprom’s fields are astronomical and incomparable with the reserves of other gas producing countries, President Vladimir Putin said on Friday.
"The Bovanenkovskoe Field and the Kharasaveiskoe Field. In the first case - 4.9 trillion cubic meters of explored reserves; in the second case - about two trillion. These are astronomical reserves for any country," the head of state noted.
"I’m not even talking about Gazprom’s other capabilities, which are simply incomparable with any gas-producing country in the world; these are colossal reserves," Putin said.
The Russian leader cited the liquefied natural gas production, storage and shipment plant on the coast of the Gulf of Finland as yet another example of the company's capabilities. "The design capacity is 1.5 mln metric tons of LNG per year," Putin said. "The indigenous Ladoga compressor unit" is operating at the plant, the head of state said. "We know - in the past and even today it still partially remains - the dependence on foreign manufacturers in this part of the company's work. Gazprom is a client of our power engineering industry, for power engineering producers," Putin noted. Gazprom is an anchor customer, he added.
