HAIKOU /China/, February 16. /TASS/. Sanya city on the southern coast of Hainan Island plans to complete work on the modernization of Port of Nansha by June, which will be well adapted to serve international projects. This was reported by the Sanya Daily newspaper.

According to the article, work is being carried out in the control area, which covers 15,600 square meters. The purpose of the upgrade is to prepare the facility for the introduction of new mechanisms of the Hainan free trade port offshore model.

In the future, the Port of Nansha will have a document control area for persons arriving in Hainan, the paper noted. If there is a need for detailed inspection of goods and vehicles during the inspection, it is planned to prepare a special site with modern professional equipment for this purpose.

The upgrade of the Port of Nansha began last September. Once completed, it will not only receive cargo ships, but also service research projects and provide repair services.
