UAC, India in talks on localizing civil aircraft production
According to General Director of UAC Yury Slyusar, the possible cooperation includes the construction of SSJ-100 aircraft in India, as well as collaboration on Il-114 and MC-21 aircraft
BENGALURU /India/, February 14. /TASS/. The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) is in talks with India on the prospects of localizing civil aircraft manufacture in the country, General Director of UAC Yury Slyusar said on Tuesday.
This includes the construction of SSJ-100 aircraft in India, as well as collaboration on Il-114 and MC-21 aircraft, according to Slyusar.
"Cooperation in the civil sector is the third area that has emerged lately. We offer the Il-114, as well as collaboration on the MC-21. One of the current topics is the possibility of starting production of SSJ-100 aircraft in a basic version with a European certificate, which the SSJ-100 has received," he said.
"In addition, we propose localizing civilian projects at the HAL company's facilities, which manufactures military equipment," he added.
According to him, the Indian manufacturing industry could be interested in such discussion from the standpoint of "possibility of obtaining civil aircraft localized here".
