ALMATY, February 3. /TASS/. Rosatom is ready to offer advanced technologies to its neighbors in the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC), head of the Russian state nuclear corporation Alexey Likhachev said on Friday. He added that in those countries the technologies will be introduced by Rosatom specialists.

Negotiations are underway with all the countries of the Five (Eurasian Economic Union - TASS) on the creation of generating capacities and nuclear power plants, he said.

"The atom is firmly included in the agenda of the EurAsEC as a whole and in bilateral relations with each of the member countries - Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan - they all link their development plans directly with nuclear energy, with nuclear competencies, each of these countries is our good partner," Likhachev told reporters in Almaty.

He stressed that the countries share the glorious past, which everyone is proud of, but there is also a no less promising future.

"All the technologies that Rosatom has today are advanced. Of course, we plan to first of all introduce them at home, but at the same time offer them to our neighbors," the head of Rosatom said.

"Negotiations are underway with virtually all countries on the creation of generating capacities of nuclear power plants and in today's bestseller VVER-1200 (pressurized water reactor - TASS), both small and medium-sized," Likhachev said.

He added that Rosatom and Kazakhstan are united by both serious projects and confidential cooperation in the field of uranium mining.

"There are big plans in general for the fuel cycle, including in the interests of supplies to third countries. Therefore, on the sidelines of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Summit, we are holding our own negotiations and actively participating in bilateral contacts," Likhachev said.

Creation of EAEU

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was formed on the basis of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Until 2015 they operated within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC).

On May 29, 2014 in Astana, the heads of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus signed the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union (ratified by Russia on October 3, Kazakhstan and Belarus on October 9, 2014).

Kyrgyzstan announced its intention to join the EAEU in 2011 and Armenia - in 2013. The agreement on accession of Armenia to the EAEU was signed on October 10, 2014 in Minsk (in fact, the republic became a member of the EAEU on January 1, 2015). On December 23, 2014, Kyrgyzstan signed a similar agreement in Moscow.

On May 8, 2015, in Moscow, the members of the organization signed documents on the accession of Kyrgyzstan to the Treaty on the EAEU. On May 20, the agreement was ratified by the parliament of the republic, and on May 21, it was signed by the President.
