Sanya resorts welcome the New Year holidays with an increased flow of tourists from other cities in the province and from all over China. Over 402 thousand people visited the sights of the city during the first 3 days of the holidays. Sanya is hosting numerous New Year's fairs, cultural performances and shopping malls offering festive discounts. The local government is also introducing new tourism products and constantly improving the level of service in Sanya to attract more visitors.
The revival of tourism in the city is due not only to the New Year vacations, but also to the lifting of anti-COVID restrictions. Phoenix International Airport has been filled with tourists since the very morning of January 20. According to the forecasts, the airport will serve more than 500 thousand passengers during the Golden Week.
The growth of tourist flow began a week before the celebration of the Lunar New Year. About 82.4 thousand people visited Sanya every day over this period, which exceeded last year's figure by 46%. Most tourists came to the city from Beijing, the southwestern province of Sichuan and Shanghai.
