The failure of a foreign CDN (Content Delivery Network, a content delivery network infrastructure) caused a number of foreign services in Russia to be inaccessible on Wednesday, the press service of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media reported citing the Public Communications Network Management Monitoring Center.
"According to information provided by the Public Communications Network Management Monitoring Center, a number of foreign Internet services were unavailable because of a temporary malfunction of the foreign CDN, which is currently operating stably," the report said.
Earlier, some users faced problems with the work of AppStore as Apple’s application store did not open without using a VPN. Users of MTS, Beeline and Megafon reported that the AppStore application had crashed.
According to Downdetector, global failures were registered with Microsoft Outlook mail service, along with gamer services, Xbox Live, Steam, and more.
