Russia to partake in electricity projects in Pakistan, says energy minister
The proposals to be separately discussed at a different level
ISLAMABAD, January 20. /TASS/. Moscow intends to put forward its proposals on electrical power projects in Pakistan, Energy Minister of the Russian Federation Nikolay Shulginov told reporters on Friday following a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation with Pakistan.
"The question on electricity generation is spot-on. They have many proposals, I have talked with the energy minister, and in fact there are a lot of proposals on participating both in modernization, and the construction of hydro-power plants and thermal power plants. So we agreed that we will provide our proposals, and we will separately discuss it at a different level," he explained.
That said, Shulginov believes hydro-power plants (HPP) and thermal power plants (TPP) are the most promising for Pakistan.
