China’s coal imports down 9.2% in 2022 to 290 mln tons, says statistics

In December, coal imports slipped by 0.1% in annual terms to 30.91 mln tons, while production rose by 2.4% to 400 mln tons

BEIJING, January 17. /TASS/. China cut coal imports by 9.2% in 2022 to 290 mln tons, the National Bureau of Statistics of China reported on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the country’s coal production increased by 9% last year to 4.5 bln tons.

In December, coal imports slipped by 0.1% in annual terms to 30.91 mln tons, while production rose by 2.4% to 400 mln tons.
