NOVO-OGAREVO, January 17. /TASS/. The level of inflation in the country may drop to 5% in the first quarter of 2023 and below 4% in the second quarter of this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a videoconference meeting on economic matters.
Inflation stood at 11.9% as of the end of the last year. "This is smaller than the Central Bank and the Government forecast," Putin said.
"Inflation may drop below the target level of 4% as early as in the second quarter of this year. We expect the drop to about 5% in the first quarter," the President added.
