Authorities to cooperate with Rosatom on development of technologies for new materials

MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. The Russian government and state nuclear corporation Rosatom signed an agreement on the development of such a high-tech area as "Technologies for new materials and substances," the government’s press service reported on Monday.

"The agreement of intent between the government of the Russian Federation and the state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom for the development of the high-tech direction "Technologies for new materials and substances" was signed by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and the Director General of the State Corporation Rosatom" Alexey Likhachev," the statement reads.

According to the document, by 2030 it is planned to develop almost a hundred new products in four areas - composites, rare earth metals, additive technologies and digital materials science. The government will provide comprehensive support for all stages of the life cycle of new products. In turn, Rosatom will organize research, ensure production and attract extrabudgetary investments together with other participants.

"Similar agreements are also be concluded with Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Novosibirsk National Research State University. In general, more than 90 large and small companies, research institutes, universities and professional associations have already indicated their interest in working on the road map. They are ready to provide their contribution to the formation of scientific "technical groundwork." The implementation of all measures until 2030 will require more than 500 billion rubles ($7.26 bln). The state should allocate one fifth of this amount," said Denis Manturov as quoted by the press service.
