Russia’s gas supplies to China via Power of Siberia hit 15.5 bcm in 2022, says Novak

In 2021, Gazprom supplied 10.39 bln cubic meters of gas to China via Power of Siberia, which brings the increase in last year’s exports of Russian gas via the pipeline to 49%

MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. Russia’s gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline hit record 15.5 bln cubic meters in 2022, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said at a meeting headed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Monday.

"Supplies to the People’s Republic of China via Power of Siberia went up as deliveries reached record 15.5 bln cubic meters of gas," he said.

In 2021, Gazprom supplied 10.39 bln cubic meters of gas to China via Power of Siberia, which brings the increase in last year’s exports of Russian gas via the pipeline to 49%.

Chief Executive Officer Alexey Miller said earlier that the holding exceeded its annual obligations in terms of gas supplies to China in 2022 as gas supplies regularly surpassed daily contracted amounts, adding that Gazprom reached a completely new level in terms of gas supplies to China on January 1.

In the coming years, Gazprom's total exports to China are expected to reach 48 bln cubic meters of gas per year, and almost 100 bln cubic meters per year taking into account the transit gas pipeline through Mongolia.
