Kazakh trade minister highlights Russia’s role as republic’s strategic partner

According to Serik Jumangarin, bilateral trade amounted to $24.6 billion last year, up 31.2% from 2020

ORENBURG, November 28. /TASS/. Russia has been and remains Kazakhstan’s strategic economic partner, Kazakh Trade and Integration Minister Serik Jumangarin said at a bilateral forum underway in Orenburg on Monday.

"The past few years were tough for entire global trade. However, despite tectonic changes, the Russian Federation has been and remains Kazakhstan’s strategic economic partner," the Kazakh official assured.

According to Jumangarin, bilateral trade amounted to $24.6 billion last year, up 31.2% from 2020. "This year, our countries have maintained the dynamic trend in mutual trade. In the first nine months [of the year], trade between our countries reached $18.4 billion, an increase of almost $1 billion compared to the same period last year," he specified.
