Russian Foreign Ministry believes African oil and gas industry on development fast-track

According to Oleg Ozerov, Africa is one of the most important and fastest growing export destinations for Russian producers

MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/. Moscow is certain that the African oil and gas industry will see rapid growth, Ambassador at large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Oleg Ozerov said in an interview with TASS.

"In terms of the energy industry, it is undeniable that the continent possesses the resources required not only for self-sufficiency, but also for exporting products. Many countries in Western, Central, and Eastern Africa have their own supplies of oil and gas, and the continent's oil and gas industry will, of course, continue to develop at a rapid pace," he said.

"The challenge we face is to promote the creation of a reliable infrastructure for the production and transportation of African energy products and the development of domestic markets," Ozerov added.

According to the diplomat, Africa is one of the most important and fastest growing export destinations for Russian producers. Moscow understands the significance of its products for the socioeconomic growth of the region's states, reaching food security targets, and achieving sustainable development goals, he added.

"Partners are interested in purchasing a wide range of domestic products, such as grain and fertilizers, including nitrogen. Our country is a reliable supplier," Ozerov said.
