Official unveils number of specialists needed for industrial software import substitution

It is noted that the technology development concept will also be approved in December 2022

INNOPOLIS, November 25. /TASS/. Carrying out import substitution projects for industrial software would require more than 200,000 new specialists, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko said at the Innopolis Digital Days Forum.

"The governmental commission has already approved 216 projects to be carried out requiring more than 200,000 new specialists," Chernyshenko said. The fundamental educational center of the Innopolis University would be ‘reassembled’ to implement import substitution objectives, he noted.

"The paramount task will be the on-the-job training of employees," the deputy prime minister said.

The technology development concept will also be approved in December 2022, he noted.

"Deputy heads for scientific and technology development will be appointed in agencies similar to our digital task force. There will be people who will be responsible for daily communication with the scientific and technology teams in their institutions," the official said.
